Keith and Dermot
Galea won Gold and Silver
Awards respectively at the MOC’s 2008
Sports Awards held at the Grand Hotel Excelsior on Sunday 7th December.
This was the highest achievement for Triathlon since the MOC
introduced these Awards in 2006.
Keith’s
Award comes on the back of his fine result at the African Triathlon
Championship which was held in Tunis last March when he won all Age-Groups.
Dermot, on
the other hand, had several good results in both Triathlon and Duathlon, his
most recent one being his win in a Duathlon in the UK last October.
The
highest award – Platinum – went to William Chetcuti for his creditable 8th
placing at the Beijing Olympics last August. In all there were eleven recipients of the
Gold Award while 6 individuals or teams won the Silver Award.
