NATIONAL DUATHLON CHAMPIONSHIP
Dear
First of all, I would like to
congratulate everyone for your Results in the Duathlon Race last Sunday. I can
assure you that we, the Organizers, had as much fun organizing it as you did in
taking part. We’ve never had so many athletes (mostly Maltese) taking part in
our Races. This augurs well for the coming Season.
Secondly, I would like to
apologize for the fact that the Results do not show the Cycle and 2nd
Run times of 3 athletes but you have to remember that the Time-Keeper was on
his own trying to take the Run, Cycle and Run times of everyone; not easy when
you have a group of athletes coming in together and the Time-Keeper has to
distinguish between those who are finishing the Cycle and those who are
finishing the whole Race.
Thirdly, I would like to thank
all those who helped to make this Race a success. In particular, my colleagues
Euchar & Oswald but also John Buhagiar (who manned the Run and Cycle
turn-around points) and Suzanne Farrugia who took care of the water-station and
then went on to sell over 110 raffle tickets!
Finally, for the first time, the
Results show also the Club of each athlete. This is an initiative which we have
taken this year as a result of a couple of local running clubs showing great
interest in opening a Triathlon Section within their fold.
